Rarely, but every now and then, like-minded musicians get together to create something special that transcends musical boundaries yet can reach a wider audience. Robben Ford and Bill Evans have done just that. Individually, they have been creating music in their different groups for decades that have gone beyond the confines of Jazz, Rock and Blues.

In the rare instances when they get a chance to combine forces, it becomes magical. That time is now.

ROBBEN FORD is one of the premier electric guitarists today, particularly known for his blues playing and singing, as well as his ability to be comfortable in a variety of musical contexts. A five-time Grammy nominee, he has played with artists as diverse as Joni Mitchell, Jimmy Witherspoon, Miles Davis, George Harrison, Phil Lesh, Bonnie Raitt, Michael McDonald, Bob Dylan, John Mayall, Greg Allman, Susan Tedeschi, Keb Mo, Larry Carlton, Mavis Staples, Brad Paisley, and many others.

“Who does Miles Davis, John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock and an extensive list of rock icons have in common ? BILL EVANS thats who.

Evans made his debut on the international music scene in the 1980s with Miles Davis, (at the age of 21 years old and recorded 6 records with Davis) which led to touring and recording with the likes of John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock, Mick Jagger to name a few. With 26 solo albums, Grammy nods, countless collaborations and tours of his own, he has never looked back. Bill has constantly reshaped his music with this inspirations.

Bills "Soulgrass Band" was a mix of Americana and driving "soul meets Jazz" (2005-2016) so the collaboration of Bill and Robben is natural one.

Bill and Robben both reach out and explore all kinds of contemporary music (Blues, Soul, Jazz) while at the same time not forgetting their roots. Both played with Miles Davis.

They recently released their first collaborative CD, called the "Sun Room." says robben, "I couldn't be happier with this recording. The vibe was so great during this recording process that it was just a joy to be a part of.”

"Making this recording was something special. Timeless music at the highest level" says Bill.

"Me and Robben are extremely excited to tour together again. These kinds of groups just don't happen every day. We are going to take people on a musical journey from the blues to contemporary jazz with a little Miles Davis thrown in there as well!"
