David Sanborn is the most influential saxophone player in pop, R&B and crossover musicians, who has won six Grammy Awards so far. Having contracted polio at the age of three, David was introduced to the saxophone as part of his treatment therapy - and today he’s been called by many: the saxophonist legend. He has released 24 records, received eight gold and one platinum album. He is the most outstanding musician of his genre. At the age of 14, he already played with blues legends like Albert King and Little Milton. Then he joined Paul Butterfield’s band, performing with them at a memorable meeting of the world’s rock history at the Woodstock Festival. He was member of Ray Charles’ band, this period had a strong impact on his play, which he does not categorize by genre. He thinks interesting music crosses boundaries and it isn’t constrained. Maybe it's no coincidence that he played together with such legends as James Brown, Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John and also with the world famous Rolling Stones. David Sanborn, who is also a composer and film actor, is the most active and prolific jazz saxophonist of the recent decades. He feels at home in almost every style as a musician and author alike. He wrote the music for several episodes of the series, Lethal Weapon. His versatility is confirmed not only by its two dozen albums so far, but also by every single unique concert he had since. In his person, a real instrumental king arrives to Fertőrákos.
